ABOUT
TYRESE CAESAR
FOUNDATION

HISTORY.

The Tyrese Caesar Foundation (TCF) is non-profit organization, created to bring awareness to gun violence in Barbados and to implement programs to help curb and eliminate illegal firearms completely.

The TCF will be designed to help anyone who has personally experienced gun violence—whether they were a witnessed to an act of gun violence, been threatened or wounded with a gun, or had someone they knew and cared for wounded or killed.

The toughest thing in the world is for any parent to have to lose a child. Our son died tragically and senselessly and to therefore acknowledge pain and resilience—and to recognize the unacceptable daily consequences of gun violence is the the reality which we have come face to face with.

For every gun taken off the streets of Barbados through this foundation, that’s one life saved. Though Tyrese may have left us in 2022, we will insure that his life did not end in vain. His name through this foundation will insure that his memory lives on in perpetuity.

Too many Barbadians have faced similar tragedies in the past and many more will in the future, unless we act now and do something.

OUR MISSION.

Our mission: Promoting peace, advocating against and bringing awareness to the negative impact of gun violence, to support and benefit families, societies and all humanity.

Less violence… more hope, more peace.

OUR PRAYER.

Heavenly Father, we thank You for this opportunity to come boldly to Your throne of grace to receive mercy and help when we need it most. We come not in our own strength but through the blood and sacrifice or our Saviour and Redeemer who has cleansed us from all unrighteousness and given us this right of access to come before You, Most Holy God. We thank You, Lord, for hanging on the cross, becoming a curse so that through You, we might become the righteousness of God. So, because of who You are, we come in confidence. You are the King of kings and the Lord of lords, the one in whom all authority in heaven and on earth has been given. You are the only one with the authority and power to accomplish all that we are asking here today. Because of Your grace, we are not limited to what we deserve or what we can accomplish in our own efforts, but according to Your power working in us, can do exceedingly abundantly all that we can ask or imagine.

So Father, we bring this issue of gun violence in our nation before You. Because You have warned us that our battle is not with flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places, we will not war according to the flesh, Lord but we claim Your divine weapons that gives us the victory in Your name and for Your glory.

We bring the sources and suppliers of illegal weapons before You, Lord; the US politicians who refuse to enact sensible gun legislation to restrict the supply of weapons, the gun manufacturers who are solely focused on profit, even in the face of the murder of innocent children. Your word tells us in Proverbs 17:15 that “He who justifies the wicked, and he who condemns the just, both of them alike are an abomination to the LORD” and in Deuteronomy 27:25 Your word says “Cursed is the one who takes a bribe to slay an innocent person. And all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’” Because of their hardness of heart to the effects of gun violence, they have allowed themselves and their country to be a curse among the nations. Oh God, will You not judge them? We do not have any power to face them, but our eyes are on You, our hope is in You, Lord. We stand in Your presence and cry out to You in our distress, Lord. Hear us and save us from these corrupt, stiff-necked politicians, Lord. Temper Your justice with mercy.

Next, we bring those on the front line of this battle before You, Father. Those that have been tasked with being the gatekeepers of our nation to stem the importation of illegal guns – the customs officers and customs brokers, etc.  We ask that You release a spirit of integrity over each and every one of them, Lord. In the name of Jesus, we ask that You weed out the corruption and those that turn a blind eye because of fear or for whatever reason.

We lift up our security forces before You, Lord. We thank You for the men and women of the coast guard, the defence force and the police force, who have answered the call to protect and serve the citizens of our land. We pray for supernatural protection over them as they patrol the seas, and the highways and by-ways of this island. We pray for divine assistance in carrying out their duties and responsibilities, and ask, in the name of Jesus, that You will enable them to be effective in stopping the flow of illegal guns into, and within our country. We pray for supernatural assistance in investigations so that cases be resolved quickly and the true perpetrators and enablers be brought to justice.  In Proverbs 17:23 Your word tells us that “A wicked man accepts a bribe behind the back to pervert the ways of justice”, so in the name of Jesus we ask that You root out the wicked and the corrupt, and release Your spirit of integrity over our security forces.

Heavenly Father, we pray for those that have been directly impacted by gun violence – those who have lost loved ones, those who have been injured and traumatized. You are a God who is close to the broken-hearted and who helps those who are crushed in spirit. So, in the name of Jesus, we pray Your strength, peace and comfort to them all. We pray for restoration, and healing of body and spirit for each and every one of them, Lord.  What the enemy has meant for evil, Lord, we ask that You turn around for the good of the victims, our nation and ultimately for Your kingdom.

We bring before You, all the agencies and charities with an anti-gun violence mission. Unless the Lord builds the house, they labour in vain who build it; unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain. We pray that they would place You at the head of their individual organizations, seeking Your guidance and direction in all their activities and programmes. Lord, by Your grace and mercy, we ask that their labours be not in vain, that they would not be a duplication of effort in the fight against gun violence and that You would provide all the financing and resources they would need according to Your riches in glory by Christ Jesus, our Lord.

Lord, we confess that we are in this position because of disobedience. Because we have turned away from You and have come to believe that we know better, we have failed to raise up our children in the fear and admonition of You, our Lord. We have cast aside Your precepts and instructions for raising godly families and so have heaped curses on ourselves and ultimately on our nation. Forgive us, Lord. May we as a nation, humble ourselves and turn from our wicked ways. May we seek You in all our ways so that we can truthfully declare that You have been, and still are the people of Barbados’ guide. Even so, Lord, have mercy upon us - for the remnant’s sake, hear our prayers and heal our land. In the name of Jesus, we ask that You release Your spirit of the fear of the Lord over our land, release Your spirit of love and peace over Barbados so that we may value human life as You have shown us by Your example. In the name of Jesus, we bind up the spirit of hatred, anger, covetousness, greed and all that leads to death and destruction.

We thank You Lord for hearing our prayers and for the confidence we have that because You hear us whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of You. So, as You have commanded, we will stand still and see the salvation of You, our Lord, which You will accomplish for us. Thank You for fighting for us so, that we may hold our peace.

We bless You, God and Father of our Lord.

Amen
